Become a mentor for ShadowTech 2019

Help inspire the next tech-generation

TechWomen want you to help inspire more girls to consider careers in the technology sector by becoming a mentor for ShadowTech 2019.

ShadowTech provides girls in years 9 -11 with an opportunity to experience what working in the tech sector is like, encouraging them onto education pathways that lead into tech sector roles.

As a mentor, you will invite secondary school students to shadow you during a work day, letting them experience a day in the life of an IT professional. Find out more about what’s involved here.

Over 75% of students said they would be interested or really interested in pursuing a career in tech after attending ShadowTech 2018.

Dates for ShadowTech 2019:

  • Auckland – Friday 7 June
  • Christchurch – Tuesday 11 June
  • Palmerston North – Friday 14 June
  • Dunedin – Tuesday 18 June
  • Hamilton – Thursday 27 June

Unfortunately, we are unable to run ShadowTech in Wellington this year due to funding limitations and being unable to secure a venue host in time. Wellington will be part of ShadowTech in 2020.

Please note: If your organisation would like to nominate mentors in more than one location, you will need to complete a registration for each region.

If you are a student who is interested in being involved in ShadowTech 2019 you can find out more here.
